Latest from Marco and Don-Thursday evening

Here is how the rest of the day went today. A valiant effort from Marco.....

Don writes...

"When Marco heard that Island Girl had been perching on a tower in Limon, he was already on the way back to San Jose.  However, he turned around and returned to Limon, hoping that the weather would keep her there for a while longer.

Unfortunately, I just received the 2200Z (early evening) GPS signal for Island Girl, and she has left Limon and is on her way toward Kekoldi.  She was flying 3-4 kilometers offshore and approaching the town of Cahuita, which is just north of Puerto Viejo and the Kekoldi observation station.  I was able to reach Marco immediately and he was already back at the tower in Limon looking for her.  So, after several days of patient waiting, he was in exactly the right spot before and after she was there, but missed seeing her.  Bad luck indeed.  Thanks for the great effort, Marco!  He was actually somewhat upbeat about the situation, saying it's valuable information to know that Island Girl knows about the tower in Limon and has probably stopped there on her previous southern migrations - and with luck, will be there next year, too.

Marco also reports continuing bad weather in the area, so perhaps I.G. will remain in the Kekoldi vicinity before heading into Panama."

So very, very close......
