Just received a call from Don McCall this morning.
Island Girl has begun her migration south yesterday (24 September) sometime after noon.
So far, we know that she flew to Salisbury Island in Hudson Strait.
Awaiting more data at this point in time but should have more soon.
Meantime, here at South Padre Island, Texas, Gregg Doney is busy coordinating our activities to start trapping and banding migrant peregrines, primarily juvenile or hatch year falcons.
We hope to get out on the beach later today but there is quite a bit of work to do first to prepare for the month-long season. Too bad I can't stay for the whole time.
Hopefully, Island Girl will again migrate through the Texas Gulf coast this year.
