On Saturday, Island Girl slowed in her migration, flying just 56 km (35 miles) for the day. She roosted on yet another rocky slope in the foothills (elevation 3,214'), which she is certainly favoring during this part of her journey.
She slept 34 km (21 miles) inland.
She is now paralleling the high interior ranges of Peru, a series of exceptionally high peaks in the Andes. The Waywash Range was to the east.
